My name is Linsey Robertson and I am starting my fifth year serving as the School Counselor here at South Newton! I am so very excited to be here and I am striving every day to make a positive difference! GO TIGERS!
As an undergraduate student, I attended UNC Charlotte and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and double minor in Child Health and Family Development and Urban Youth and Communities. In May of 2016 I graduated with my Master's Degree in School Counseling and Certificate in Play Therapy, also from UNC Charlotte. I earned my license as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) in 2016 as well. I love to use my spare time taking care of my animals, being creative, practicing photography, playing sports, and spending time with those that I care about most. My passion is helping people and impacting lives in ways that inspire limitless potential!
My Personal Mission is to Stretch my Mind, Open my Heart, and Extend my Hand in order to be the light for those who need it.
My job as the School Counselor is to support students with their social-emotional needs, their academic needs, and with developing and achieving their career goals. At South Newton, we have adopted the Leader in Me lifestyle which reflects in my counselor core curriculum. I also abide by the American School Counselor Association's National Standards. The ways in which I will support students interests and needs is through classroom guidance lessons, individual counseling and group counseling. I also serve as a resource for staff and parents so that students can receive the most well rounded support available to them in order to be successful. My goal is that one day all students will become productive and inspirational citizens of the future.
